 About the limiter threshold

DME libraries provided by Yamaha assume that a processor such as the DME24N or SP2060 that features a max-

imum output level of +24 dBu is being combined with a power amp of 26 dB gain.

When a DME library file is recalled, the limiter threshold is raised by +6 dB to optimize the settings for the TXn.

When the file is stored, the threshold is lowered by -6 dB.

If the settings are other than the combination listed above, use the Speaker Processor’s Limiter setting (page 172)

to make further adjustments to the threshold as follows.

• If the gain is 6 dB low (e.g., when the MY8-DA96 whose maximum output is +18 dBu is used together with

an amplifier whose gain is 26 dB)

 lower the threshold 6dB.

• If the gain is 6 dB high (e.g., when the SP2060 whose maximum output is +24 dBu is used together with an

amplifier whose gain is 32 dB)

 raise the threshold 6dB.

 8 Band EQ component library

Library files have a file name extension of “.ce2”. 8 BandEQ Library files created by DME Designer (file name

extension “.cel”) can also be recalled, but not saved.

You can save a library item by pressing the Library [STORE] button, then specifying the library file name and a

folder to store it in. If you save the library file in the folder selected in the [User Library Folder] of the “Prefer-

ence” dialog box (page 39), the file name will appear in the Library [RECALL] menu. The name of the copied

library file will also be shown in the project folder when saving a project.

• If you recall a “.cel” file, the level will become “0.”

• A library item for Turbosound TFA600 series is provided as a Pre-installed Library.

• You are also free to specify a different folder for saving. If you’ve saved a library file in a different folder,

you can recall it by specifying the location of the file.
